Outward Bound
Outward Bound is the leading organisation in New Zealand for
showing people their full potential through challenge and adventure
in the outdoors. It was established in 1962 and still operates from
the original location, Anakiwa, in the Marlborough Sounds. Since
commencement over 45, 000 New Zealanders have experienced an
Outward Bound course.
Outward Bound New Zealand is a 'not for profit' organisation, we
receive no funding from government, and therefore rely on the
financial support of the community. Your help will allow us to
continue in our vision of 'Better People, Better Communities,
Better World'. Specifically your donation will be used to
further the development and leadership potential of young people in
the age range of 16 to 26 years.
The purpose of Outward Bound is to enable people to learn more
about themselves, and others from challenge, success and failure,
self reflection and feedback. Outward Bound courses are based on
real adventure. Students are impelled into experiences that are
physically, mentally and emotionally challenging. We push the
limits, take participants outside of their comfort zones and help
them conquer their fears.
We offer a wide range of courses for different ages, abilities,
cultures and stages in life. These include, but are not limited
to:

I love it now !!!" - Anon, post course feedback form

me" - Lisa, Masters student
"I could go on and write a short story of 'Outward Bound
